COVID Vaccine - Why Do I have to wait?
13 Jan 21 - As COVID-19 vaccine stock starts to arrive in the area, patients will be invited to take up the vaccine in line with the vulnerable adults criteria defined by gov.uk. This is likely to be administered in a mass vaccination site in Newark.
Practices around Nottinghamshire are receiving a high volume of calls regarding the COVID vaccine. Letters have started to be sent to over 80s registered with Nottinghamshire practices.
A number of members of our public in Nottinghamshire have been publicly posting the telephone number and booking website information contained within this letter on social media which means that a lot of under 80s are calling trying to book in. Whilst they should not be successful when booking as the systems should decline the request, it is causing bottlenecks and delaying those who are eligible getting through. The Nottinghamshire CCG have made these media messages live at 5 Jan 21 : https://nottsccg.nhs.uk/ccg/covid-19-vaccinations-in-nottinghamshire-letters-being-sent-to-over-80s-look-out-for-yours/ and sent to the media and councils to help reduce the calls to general practice and the booking systems.
